The THB factory released two new replica models of the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak 15407 just a couple of weeks ago, so now that I’m back from our National Day holiday, I finally have time to review them.
The holidays here in China were packed with travellers, and it got me thinking of travelling to Japan next year. Any tips on the best season to go and must-see spots?
Now, about THB factory—this is a relatively new player in the replica watch scene. I first came across them when they launched a 40mm Day-Date Rolex replica a few months back.
I had my suspicions that they might be the same company as APS, and after doing some digging (and talking to a few dealers who carry their pieces), it seems that’s indeed the case.
For this release, THB put out two versions of the Royal Oak 15407: one in stainless steel and another in rose gold. Both models feature the super clone AP 3132 movement developed by THB themselves, allowing the case size and thickness to match the original at 9.9mm.
One standout improvement is the visible rotating balance wheel, unlike the original APS release where it was hidden, and a step up from the ZF version, which has a non-moving wheel at 7:30.
That said, if you look closely at the golden wheel, you’ll notice THB’s isn’t quite perfect.
The original has a detailed decoration with tiny screws, which THB’s version lacks. Still, the skeleton dial itself is impressive—THB has done a fantastic job with the openwork design, positioning the rotating wheel correctly and replicating the genuine dial’s construction very closely.
There may be some minor differences in a few small details, but overall, this dial is the closest any replica 15407 has come to the original.
As with any replica, there are always a few things that could be improved. Could Z Factory eventually release the ultimate version of this 15407? Time will tell.
