Previously, only the PP Factory produced the best replica Nautilus 5712, featuring a super clone 240 movement.
However, I fear that some buyers might now turn to OME, which is likely just an individual or group sourcing all the components of the Nautilus 5712, including the movement, from PP Factory and customising the watch to enhance its appearance.
I must admit, this is a clever idea—the same approach could be applied to the Nautilus 5711, the Aquanaut, and other models.
Improvements on the OME Nautilus 5712
Dial Enhancements:
The dial colour is now closer to that of the genuine watch. When viewed from different angles, it shifts in appearance—from grey with a hint of black at certain angles to a purplish-blue at others.
The central hands’ axis and the small hands are now more solidly constructed.
The most significant upgrade is in the moon phase indicator, which now appears more solid and three-dimensional compared to the PPF 5712.
Case Refinements:
The case has undergone an important modification, particularly in the shape of the lugs, making them more accurate.
Movement Adjustments:
The movement functions identically to the 240 movement used in the PPF 5712, suggesting that OME sources the same movement from PP Factory.
However, the engravings on the movement plates appear deeper.
The golden hue of the micro-rotor is now closer to that of the genuine calibre.
Due to these improvements, OME sells this replica at a slightly higher price than PP Factory, though not excessively so.
How to Verify the Correct 240 Movement
To ensure that the Nautilus 5712 you are purchasing is equipped with the correct 240 movement, ask your dealer to perform a test. Pull out the crown and rotate it to wind the watch. If the small hand on the power reserve indicator at 10 o’clock moves forward to “48,” you are buying the correct version. Otherwise, you may be getting a lower-quality replica.
Additionally, the moon phase disc moves slightly each day, just like the genuine watch, completing a full rotation every month. The moon phase can be adjusted using the button located at 5 o’clock, while the date display can be set via the button at 7 o’clock.
