BBR has been a respected name in the replica watch market, known for producing high-quality watches, particularly Richard Mille models, including both regular and tourbillon versions.
However, it has become increasingly difficult to order watches from BBR as they are currently on holiday, and rumours suggest they may close their workshop and exit the business permanently.
This is unfortunate, but why is it happening?
Perhaps they haven’t been profitable or have earned enough to step away. It’s also possible they’re struggling to compete with brands like ZF, JB, and custom-made RM replicas, which are now preferred by many due to their superior quality.
As a result, demand for BBR watches has declined.
The RM27-03 replica comes in three colour options: black, red, and yellow. While I’ve previously introduced the black version, the yellow one stands out as particularly striking. Each watch is paired with a matching nylon strap, and BBR also includes a free elastic strap.
The yellow version, made from coloured carbon, is especially appealing, with the grain on the carbon giving it a unique aesthetic.
Coloured carbon models are priced higher than the black variant. The case, including the crown, is entirely carbon and weighs about 43 grams—significantly lighter than many sports quartz watches.
No Richard Mille replica is flawless, and the RM27-03 is no exception. The skeleton dial has an apparent discrepancy at the 3 o’clock position, and the stitching on the nylon strap is subpar, with threads visibly sticking out. However, the elastic strap is better, though it isn’t suitable for wrists larger than 18cm.
The watch features a manual winding tourbillon movement, with the working tourbillon mechanism clearly visible at 6 o’clock. Through the skeleton dial, you can see the solid yellow carbon case back, which some may find odd—I personally prefer a model with a crystal case back.
