The competition within the clone Rolex Day-Date market has become increasingly intense, with factories continuously pushing to produce heavier models in an attempt to replicate the weight of the genuine article.

Today, I would like to introduce the Day-Date from CBD Factory, whose primary selling point is achieving the “Original Weight”, meaning each of their Day-Date models matches the weight of an authentic Rolex Day-Date.

Prior to the emergence of CBD, the leading manufacturers of Day-Date replicas were GM, Q, and THB factories. GM Factory was the first to focus on increasing the weight of their Day-Date models, with their latest version reaching approximately 175 grams. To this day, GM remains my recommended option for those seeking a cost-effective Day-Date, as they offer the most competitive pricing among the three major factories.

As for CBD, their background remains unclear. They may be a newly established operation, though it is also highly possible that CBD is simply a rebranding of an existing factory—similar to Q Factory, which is operated by GM to produce higher-end Day-Date models at premium pricing. The latest Day-Date from Q Factory weighs around 185 grams and features 28 links in the bracelet.

THB Factory, which is managed by APS, has taken the weight increase even further. The THB Day-Date weighs approximately 193 grams and comes equipped with 31 links. While Q Factory increased bracelet weight by adding more links, THB expanded on this by adding an additional three links beyond Q’s design, further enhancing the total weight.

When comparing Day-Date models between Q and THB, my general recommendation is:

  • For yellow gold models, opt for THB.
  • For rose gold models, Q Factory is the better choice.

Returning to CBD, they currently offer two bracelet configurations:

  1. A standard-length bracelet (shown in the pictures below).
  2. An extended-length bracelet for larger wrists.

The stainless steel Day-Date from CBD weighs approximately 202 grams, while the gold-tone variant reaches around 207 grams. Unlike Q and THB, which increase weight by adding additional links, CBD has focused on thickening the links themselves while maintaining standard bracelet length. This approach significantly boosts the overall weight without altering the classic proportions.

A major contributor to the substantial weight of the CBD Day-Date is the use of tungsten alloy in the inner structure of the case and bracelet. The exterior is crafted from 904L stainless steel, further enhancing durability and authenticity in appearance.

CBD Factory has also extended its product line beyond the Day-Date, offering Daytona models as well. Currently, the CBD Day-Date is experiencing strong sales, particularly as their pricing is more affordable than THB’s Day-Date, making it an attractive option for those prioritising weight accuracy and value.
