Quote from ModernTimeWatch on November 20, 2025, 1:45 pmBLS New Release – Omega’s Latest Speedmaster “Dark Side of the Moon”
This new model from BLS is based on Omega’s latest Speedmaster “Dark Side of the Moon” series. For the first time, it adopts a full-ceramic construction. Ceramic is an inorganic, non-metallic material created through high-temperature firing, allowing it to be formed into high-density components with exceptional mechanical properties. It has become one of the most popular case materials among watch buyers due to its eye-catching colors and outstanding performance. Ceramic is twice as light as stainless steel, highly wear-resistant, scratch-resistant, biochemically inert, hypoallergenic, and non-magnetic.
The watch features a 44.25 mm case and houses a blackened movement. Using laser-ablated engraving, the movement’s bridges are decorated with a realistic lunar surface texture—paying tribute to the Speedmaster’s remarkable role in the Apollo 8 mission. Through the skeletonized dial made of black anodized aluminum, you can clearly see the near side of the Moon, the face visible from Earth. The case back reveals the far side of the Moon, a view once seen only by astronauts.
The watch comes with a black perforated rubber strap accented by a yellow rubber lining for visual contrast. Crafted entirely in black ceramic, it features a central chronograph seconds hand coated in bright yellow lacquer, as well as a bezel with laser-engraved white enamel tachymeter markings.
The small-seconds hand is made of Grade 5 titanium and takes inspiration from the Saturn V rocket. This three-dimensional design is produced through laser-turning technology, with its distinct color effects achieved using white lacquer, laser ablation, and laser blackening techniques.
