Black dial always relax factories, after all, there is no color difference for black, unlike color dial, factories should expend more energy on the color. Of course same for Steve, at least no need to using my eyes too much when make comparison, haha!
Bezel Side View
The color and texture of bezel are similar among factories.
The bezel of GEN rotates very tightly and smoothly, and no sound. For VS and Clean, their bezel feels good and it is smooth when rotating, but both a bit noisy. GM and EW’s bezel are too loose, and sounds too loud when rotating, and GM’s blocking feeling is too strong, I don’t know if it’s an individual issue.
Crystal Side View
For crystal side, Clean is the closest to GEN, with obvious kit lugs treatment, followed by GM. The kit lugs treatment of VS and EW are not obvious enough, so that the crystal is a bit high when viewed from side.
Teeth Side View
There are slight deviations in the teeth shape for all factories. Through the comparison of real watch, the difference of VS is smaller, VS’s teeth is opened in the center like GEN. Followed by GM. Clean’s teeth is too high, EW is the same, and the overall shape of EW is a bit smaller.
Bezel Digital and Stick View
VS, Clean and EW all made edge kit lugs treatment, and the shape is very good, but the font of EW is a little bit bigger. GM did not make kit lugs treatment, and their font and stick are obviously too small.
Triangle View
GM’s triangle is also much smaller. Other three factories are good in this part, there are edge kit lugs treatment like GEN.
Dail Stick Side View
In terms of the kit lugs treatment of stick, VS does the best, especially the stick marker, the roundness and smoothness of the corner is very similar with GEN! Clean and EW are not very good in stick marker, but at least they made kit lugs treatment. GM has lost their style as a big factory in this part, they did not make kit lugs treatment!
Luminous Fill View
The luminous filling of all hands has a certain graininess, but it is obvious not enough when compared with GEN.
For the luminous graininess of stick, VS, Clean, and EW are all good, GM is too smooth to see any graininess.
Mimeograph Font View
In general, the mimeograph fonts of four factories are very good, the printing is very regular and with 3D effect. The ‘UA’ in ‘PERPETUAL’ of VS have overflow defects which is just an individual issue.
There is something wrong with EW, the space between ‘YST’ in ‘OYSTER’ seems a bit larger. Compared with GEN by naked eyes, it is quite obvious!
Middle Axle View
For the shape of middle axle, factories are all different compared with GEN. In comparison, I think that the shape of VS and GM is more closer to GEN, Clean is too flat, and the skeleton in middle axle of EW is too big. For the thickness of hands, Clean is the closest to GEN, with good third dimension.
Rehaut View
The font of GM is a bit smaller, there is no much difference for other three factories.
In fact, we can see that even GEN is not completely aligned with the crown. We have seen many GEN and not all of them are aligned very well.
Date Window Side View
For the kit lugs treatment of window edge, EW is the best, VS and Clean are also good, GM almost no kit lugs treatment.
In addition, through observation of real watch, four factories have blue light coating, except for EW, the other three factories are not obvious. The blue light coating of GEN is purple-tinged. EW may be too obvious, resulting in too blue in color!
Crown Side View
For the teeth on the crown, VS is the best polished, followed by Clean and EW, GM no polish treatment so that it’s too sharp.
In addition, we can see from the pictures that the shoulder pads of GM and EW seems higher than GEN. After measurement, I found that they are indeed a little higher!
Case Side View
There is no many comments on the shape of case, you can compare it by yourselves if interested in, and you can also check the data comparison pictures at the end for comparison!
For the color, since this GEN Yacht Master model uses white gold case, factories use stainless steel, so that replicas would be lighter in weight than GEN and there are color difference. We can see from pictures that GEN is tend to be beige-white, which is the characteristic of white gold, but the stainless steel is silvery white. In fact, I think no need to care too much, if you are very concerned about this aspect and have sufficient budget, the color difference would be only removed by wrapping gold.
Case Back View
We can zoom in to see the imprint engraving on the lugs. On the whole, the VS engraving is the best. The precious metal dog head logo and scale imprint are very clear and three-dimensional, followed by Clean and EW, GM seems a bit unkind, their dog head logo has no three-dimensional effect.
In addition, I would like to explain to everyone that the precious metal models produced by Rolex before 2020 were all engraved with ‘750’, and there was a ‘750’ in the middle of the scale logo, but for the production after 2020, they use the latest ‘AU750’, and the middle ‘750’ of the scale logo is removed. Our GEN was produced before 2020, the engraving is ‘750’ and there are scale logo with middle ‘750’. Clean is using the latest ‘AU750’ and scale logo, so there is no problem in this aspect.
Strap and Buckle Details View
The strap of Clean and EW are relatively soft, followed by GM. Relatively speaking, VS is a bit hard, but there is no difference in feel.
For the comprehensive position and size of the engraving on the side of the strap, GM and EW are better. Then let’s talk about the manufacturer’s gifts, GM gave half of the E strap as a gift, EW gave E+F strap (but the size number on the given watch strap is wrong), VS and Clean did not give free strap.
Here we are going to talk about the fine-tuning slide rail of the buckle. VS does a very good job here. Their slides is very smooth and without any feeling of blocking when fine-tuned. GM is good, but Clean and EW is a bit hard when fine-tuned!
For the engraving and imprint on the buckle, VS is still the best, their dog head logo and the scale logo are very three-dimensional. In contrast, other factories are much inferior and no 3D effect.
In addition, I have to mention that the engraving on the buckle of Clean is a bit contradictory. It uses the latest ‘AU750’, but the scale logo is the old version with ‘750’. Does Clean wants to mix the old version and new version? This is really makes me puzzled. I believe that Clean would correct this in the later stage!
Luminous and Laser Marker View
There is no difference in the luminous effect. Although the laser markers of factories is different from GEN, they are actually similar when viewed with naked eyes.
Movement View
For movement, VS uses Dandong 3235, Clean and GM both use VR3235. EW uses Hangzhou 3235, the date change is a slow jump mode, overall structure is still different from GEN in many parts. In addition, the font on Hangzhou 3235 is printed, considering the price of EW, we can’t require too much about it. After all, EW is always the cost-effective style.
